What is it?
H2O - Used to maintain health of the grass plant and the structure of the soil.
How it’s used:
- Applied in an irrigation system or by hand and naturally with rain fall.
- Should now be collected off pavilion roofs etc. for use on the ground.
Timing:
In preparation of pitches and maintaining plant health.
Effects of incorrect procedure:
- Over watering creates soft playing surface and the wrong grass species.
- Under watering.
- Death of the grass plant.
Equipment selection:
Storage tanks, pumps, hose pipes, mobile sprinklers, automatic irrigation systems and the good old watering can.
Practical tips:
If you store water on site have it tested once a year for pH nutrients and amount of oxygen.
