Use mower with sharpen and correctly adjusted blades.

All year round.

Effects of Incorrect Procedure:

• Reduce playability.
• Build up of organic matter in pitch surface.
• Damage to grass plant.
• Possible occurrence of disease.
• Visible scarring of surface.

Equipment:

• Pedestrian cylinder mower
• Ride-on cylinder mower.
• Rotary mower.
• Flail mower.

Practical Tips:

• Only trained staff/volunteers should be allowed to complete this task.
• Best completed when grass is dry and frost-free.
• When mowing it is good practice to change direction of cut each operation.
• Mower blades should be sharp and setup correctly.
