What is it?
One of the major plant nutrients necessary for healthy plant growth.
How it’s used:
Used in the grass plant for root growth, plant development and seed formation.
Timing:
Due to its essential role in photosynthesis creating new cell walls and promoting shoot and root growth Phosphorus is often used in higher volumes in pre-seeding fertilisers applied in and around renovation periods.
Effects of incorrect procedure:
Over use can impact on the grass plants ability to take up certain micronutrients but it is also a concern in water courses and no more than the required amount should be applied.
Equipment selection:
Tractor operated or pedestrian fertiliser distributors or sprayers.
Practical tips:
Check pH level as this is very important for Phosphate availability.
