Overmarking

Aim:

Maintains the visibility and straightness of lines.

Method:

Overmark lines that have been worn out from play, rain or other maintenance tasks.

Timing:

Within two days of completing match.

Effects of Incorrect Procedure:

• Controversial decision.
• Delay to start of match to allow remedial action.
• Match postponed by officials.
• Reported to league.

Equipment:

• Line marker & marking compound.
• Do not use weed killer of other chemical that kill the grass.

Practical Tips:

• Only mark when the ground conditions are acceptable.
• Check the high wear areas.
• If possible mark when the grass leaf is dry it will last longer.
