Seeding
If you have a dimple seeder (never use a disc or slit seeder) then you should apply an overseed rate of the same grass seed you use in end of season renovations, increasing this to a full reseed rate in bare areas.
If you do not have a dimple seeder, then broadcast seed (you can broadcast fertiliser at the same time if you wish) using a pedestrian fertiliser spreader or by hand and then brush the seed into the scarification lines – providing a second application if necessary to get even distribution.
Fertiliser
If you haven’t applied fertiliser – you can at this stage, or wait until establishment and then apply to the new seedlings.
Topdressing
Once you have seeded – apply a light topdressing (Approx 2 x 20 kg bags) over the seeded pitch using a calibrated drop spreader, a pedestrian fertiliser spreader or by hand. Use a drag mat or lute to smooth and level this dressing and work it into any minor depressions.
