Make sure sight screens (if they are available) are in place at each end of the ground behind the bowler’s arm.

Note that sight screens should not be within the boundary or 3 yd safety margin.

Some sight screens are liable to tip over during higher winds – carry out a live risk assessment on suitability of using your sight screens in windy conditions as they could fall on players or on people walking around the boundary.

Just check you have the right colour – white screens for red balls, black screens for white balls. (You can use black geotextile / sheeting, securely fitted to cover a white sight screen for temporary white ball use. If you use a mix of white and red ball you can get reversible balck and white sight screens).

When storing sight screens, secure them so that they are not a risk to passers-by or property during windy conditions.
