Try and keep the surface moist to allow the best growing conditions but try and keep off the pitches for at least a fortnight. If you are able to, try and cut the grass at about 50mm with a rotary mower if possible, just taking the top off really. Continue to cut once a week after that, always in a different direction to encourage the seedling to tiller which will help it to form a plant much faster. You can let the clippings fly during this period of work.
