What is it?
A material or mixture which supplies plant nutrients, usually nitrogen, phosphate and potash.

Normally applied as a granular, powder of liquid.
Timing
A basic fertiliser is applied every 6 to 8 weeks. Apply when it going to rain or irrigation can be applied.
What are the effects of incorrect procedure?
Appling in dry weather can scorch the grass. Too much nitrogen in the winter can produce soft, weak growth.

Tractor and pedestrian fertiliser spreaders.
Practical tips:
Divide the application rate by two and apply in two directions to ensure good coverage.
