Aim:

To assess whether the pitch/s conform to standards set out by Sport England and the RFL.

Method:

Use of Performance Quality Standards (PQS).

Timing:

  • During season.
  • Out of season.

Effects of Incorrect Procedure:

  • Poor standard pitch/s.
  • Loss of play due to poor surface conditions.
  • Loss of revenue.

Equipment:

PQS tables.

Practical Tips:

Over time, regular assessments will provide a benchmark that indicates whether the management/maintenance programme is effective.
