Use of visual inspection and basic groundsman tools.

Anytime.

Effects of Incorrect Procedure:

• Poor standard pitch/s.
• Loss of play due to poor surface conditions.
• Loss of revenue.
• Poor use of resources.

Equipment:

• Visual.
• Spade/Peg/Fork.

Practical Tips:

• Walk over the pitch diagonally in two directions.
• Select and area of the pitch but not a worn area.
